John Peter HOBKIRK married Esther STONES on 3 December 1791 at St. Stephen parish, Coleman Street, London.

John Peter HOBKIRK was a West Indian merchant, living in London. He was also a freeman of the City of London.

The 13 January 1796 London Times states a John Peter HOBKIRK of Coleman Street, merchant, bankrupt. Also in 1796 a John Peter HOBKIRK subscribed to a bookkeeping system in London.

John and Esther had the following known children:

Mary Eleanor HOBKIRK, born 27, Jan 1802 and christened 6 April 1802 at St. Leonards, Shoreditch, London
