Spottiswoode Hopkirk Photos
Here are the photos from over 100 years ago, recently reuniting two long separated families, the Spottiswoode and Hopkirk families. Many of the photos were sent from New Zealand by Joseph (Joe) Spottiswoode Hopkirk during the late 1800's through the early 1910's to his first cousin Agnes Alexander Spottiswoode. Others were produced around the Scottish borders. You can go to Joseph(Joe) Hopkirk's page, linked above, for the full story of how the photos were discovered and re-united with the Hopkirk and Spottiswoode Families. The Spottiswoode Family appears to have been a family of means, as many of the photos were taken at, or by, expensive studios in the UK, and the woman are always wearing expensive looking clothing.
