David Hamua HOPKIRK and May Caroline BLACKWELL

David Hamua HOPKIRK was the second son of John Brown HOPKIRK & Emily Gertrude PILCHER

David was born on 5 November 1895 at Hamua near Paihatua, New Zealand

Mary Caroline BLACKWELL was born 2 May 1895

David served in World War I and in the third quarter of 1919 he married Mary Caroline BLACKWELL at Wilton, Wiltshire, England. They returned to New Zealand to make their home.

David and Mary had the following children:

Dorothy Davida (Vida) HOPKIRK, born 25 March 1920 (see Current events for more info about Vida)

         (Vida married George Lucock. George was born on 16 April 1918. They had  4 sons and 2 daughters)

Carol Mary HOPKIRK, born 24 February 1921. Carol passed away on 2 March 2001 at HRH, Hastings.

          (Carol married Peter McRae DAVIDSON. Peter was born on 26 Sep 1916 and died in 1990. They had two sons and a daughter.)

David William Keith (Keith) HOPKIRK, born 13 July 1934. David passed away on 22 September 1987

           (David married Judith HOLLAND on 3 January 1959. They had a son and two daughters)

David Hamua HOPKIRK passed away on 21 May 1955.

May passed away on 6 September 1972 in Christchurch, New Zealand, per Obituary
