Andrew HOBKIRK was the son of James HOBKIRK & Jean SCOTT
Andrew HOBKIRK was born 21 August 1820 at Cavers.
From the marriage certificate of Andrew and Isabella's son William, we know that Andrew was a "stocking weaver." This agrees with the 1851 census, which lists the young Andrew as a "woollen stockingmaker."
Andrew HOBKIRK & Isabella DANIEL were married on 14 January 1861 at Bedrule, Roxburgh
Andrew and Isabella HOBKIRK had the following known children:
William HOBKIRK, born about 1862 (Listed as age 24 on his 1886 marriage certificate)
James HOBKIRK, born 5 October 1867 at Cavers
Andrew HOBKIRK, born 12 February 1870 at Cavers
From another source, not connected to this family, I was given the following
information, presumably from a headstone:
"Andrew HOBKIRK died 11 December, age 90 and also Isobella Cairns Daniel,
his wife, died in Perthshire 8 July 1908 age 76 years, and James HOBKIRK
their son died at Edinburgh 23rd February 1924, age 56. Also three children
in infancy."
