William Alexander HOBKIRK

William Alexander HOBKIRK was the son of John Peter HOBKIRK & Mary Francis LECESNE.

William Alexander HOBKIRK was born in Rio de Janeiro on 29 October 1837.

In 1850, as a 13 year old child, William Alexander HOBKIRK arrived at Falmouth, UK from Brazil with mail and passengers on the vessel "Seagull."

From the 1851 census, William is listed as boarding in Wales at Glamorgan, born at Rio de Janeiro.

In 1855 William Alexander HOBKIRK arrived in VDL from England.(per JFH book)

In 1866, he may have been the "Mr. W.A. Hobkirk, aged 23 left Victoria for London on the boat 'Kent'."

On 27 August 1870 a W. A. Hobkirk, aged 30, single, arrived in Victoria from Canada(Burrards Inlet) on the boat "Henry Adderley"

From 10 June 1889 to 30 September 1892 William Alexander HOBKIRK was a teacher with the Department of Education, Queensland, Australia, teaching at Currigee on South Stradbroke Island.

William Alexander HOBKIRK passed away on 25 September 1894 at Queensland, Australia.
