John(5) HOPKIRK was the son of James(4) HOPKIRK Martha MARRINGTON
John HOPKIRK was christened 22 December 1878 at Bishopwearmouth
John(5) HOPKIRK was known as "Jack." In 1913 he married Louisa HODGSON.

Leslie Merrington
HOPKIRK, born 9 March 1914, South Shields, Durham, UK. He
passed away in July 1998. Leslie's UK Navy records records his middle
name with the same spelling as his grandmother, MARRINGTON.
Sydney Merrington HOPKIRK, born 7 June 1920, Sunderland, Durham, UK. Sydney passed away in September 2001 in Sunderland
Gordon Merrington HOPKIRK, born 3 December 1925 in Sunderland. Gordon passed away in April 1991.
Jack died in 1961. Below is a picture of Jack and Louisa taken 21 Aug
1954.
