Thomas(4) HOPKIRK married his wife Elizabeth in 1864.
From the 1881 Census we know that Thomas was aged 41, born in Monkwearmouth, and his occupation was a Joiner. His wife Elizabeth was aged 40 and she was born in Southwick. Their oldest son, Alfred, was 14, born in Monkwearmouth, and listed as a Printers Apprentice. Their younger son was listed as aged 12 and born in Monkwearmouth and attending school.
From the 1881 census we also know they were living at 2 Howick St., Monkwearmouth Shore, Durham, England.
From the 1891 census, we find the family living at 31 Liddell
Terrace, Monkwearmouth Shore. Thomas, age 51, a Joiner; Elizabeth age
50; Henry, age 21 is a hairdresser and also in the residence is Mary
Kirton, age 12 is a servant. All are born in Sunderland.
Thomas and Elizabeth's known children were:
Alfred(5) HOPKIRK, born 1867. (Married Alice Campbell)
Henry(5) HOPKIRK, born 1869.
