Jerry was living at 20 Franklin Street, San Francisco in early 1949 and was working for Remington Rand Inc. of Buffalo New York.
Around the time they got married, Jerry began working for the State of California Division of Highways.

In 1949 Mary Ellen worked for the Great American Insurance Company and earned $2,130.00. She stopped working in late January 1950.

When Jerry and Mary Ellen were first married they lived at 210 Church Street, Apt.#10, San Francisco, California. Rent was $34.50 per month.

Before the birth of their first child, they moved to 1607 Dolores Street, San Francisco, across the street from the Dolores Inn, own by Mary Ellen's Uncle Dan Sullivan. Rent was $20.00 per month.

On September 11, 1950 they purchased two wing chairs from Hildebrand Furniture for $208.00. A little expensive for that time, but quality lasts a long time. They still owned those two chairs when they passed away almost 60 years later.

Jerry and Mary Ellen started their family on Dolores Street in  San Francisco, where their two eldest children were born.

In 1953 the family moved down the San Francisco Peninsula where children 3 through 6 were born.

They are buried together at Holy Cross Cemetery, Menlo Park, California
