Emilio BAIOCCHI

Emilio BAIOCCHI was the eldest child of Silvio BAIOCCHI & Anne Roödtman

Emilio was born on 22 Augut 1921.
Emilio's nickname was "Tolly"

Emilio was just over 16, around 1937, when he began his apprenticeship with the "PUTCO BUS BUILDERS" as it was known then, where Emilio started his trade as a bus body builder. He soon mastered his trade and eventually taught many others.

Emilio worked for many years for the Germiston municipality, designing and building buses by hand, from start to finish, with the help of just one assistant.

Emilio passed away on 8 May 2010 at the Ron Smith Care Center of Elphin Lodge at 9:45am, with his loved ones, his sister Elvira and his niece Theresa, by his side. Elvira's last words to her brother, just before he passed away, were "My dearest brother, it is time for you to go home to our Father, God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit. I love you brother Tolly." Emilio then briefly opened his eyes for the first time since he had been in a coma and answered her: "Thank you, Duffy, I love you." Emilio then closed his eyes and passed on.

The family is grateful to the Solheim Old Age Home, Frail Care Center for safely transporting Elvira to be with her brother at the end.

And to conclude, we have the following final message from Emilio's dear cousin Divo Stagi in Lucca, Italy:

I like to unite me to the prayer of the Church to give the last regard to the dear Emilio

Dear Emilio, May the angels lead you into paradise: may the martys receive you at your coming, and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the choir of angels received you, and with Lazarus, who once was poor, may You have everlasting rest.

Divo
